Couple Commissions
Over the past couple of years I have taken on a number of couple commissions for clients who would like to have a piece of art that they can gift to their partner which reminds them of memories or special occasions such as engagements and weddings etc.
I work with my clients to choose the best photo to recreate. From there we decide on a size and a colour palette. I predominantly like to work on a large scale such as A1 or larger when drawing in charcoal, as more space allows me to include smaller details and make the drawing look as realistic as possible. The final touch of these drawings is the painted background. I often provide my clients with a list of colour options for them to choose from. Once the background has been painted, the drawing lifts from the paper and the small elements of white and dark shadows stand out and contrast against the colour that lies behind.
The best part of these commissions is the moment I am able to hand over the drawing to the couple. Presenting them with an artwork which encapsulates a specific, special moment in time, shared together is the most rewarding part of the process for me. I hope that each of my couple commissions are a constant reminder of their relationships, which can take up residence in their home and be cherished for years to come.
